By opening up an in-between space, there is always a suggestion of something that holds; a frame, an organization, an element of control.

As a prerequisite factor for the possibility of co-existence, the emphasis is given to the crack, the gesture and the relation of event and milieu.

Through my work, two things are unfolding at the same time; a direct exploration of the spatial in-between through reflection on space, but also an object that suggests an in-between space.

My interest lies in open-ended systems of narrative representations of transformation. Influenced by readings of Irigaray and Grosz, I suggest that approaching the possibilities of the architectural space that may be produced at the melting point of oppositional stereotypical pairs with an emphasis on the natural/cultural opposition as the place of division between the human and the animal, is a prerequisite factor for the realization of a ‘between me and you’ — shared — place.

My exploration follows the passages from the frame to painting to the screen. By examining spatial properties such as the double, as asymmetry and transparency and through discontinuities and juxtapositions of binary structural systems, through the production of drawings, models, notebooks and video-animations, one might be provided with the possibilities of a future architecture, an architecture of rejection of binary logic.

The appropriation of the fragmented historical, etymological and representational use of the object in various cultures is treated as a metaphor (vehicle of transportation), targeting at the diffusion of national — cultural and natural stereotypical borders.

Through the continuous reconstitution of space and the constant re-construction of the object’s fragmented, edited, copied and pasted, projected and repeated historical, etymological and representational definitions, the formation, distribution and division of knowledge and experience are put under question.
